Presentation on Non-Destructive Testing

Endevour hosted a presentation on «Recent Non-Destructive Testing Technologies in Petroleum Industry» together with the partner – Advanced Technology Group Ltd (ATG, Czech Republic) on 15-16 December 2015.

Colleagues from the Czech Republic Stanislav Juráček and Oldřich Daněk shared information about the advanced NDT in the field of drilling, production and transportation of oil and gas, which the ATG company successfully applied in the countries of EU, CIS, Middle East, Asia and Africa. The presentation detailed the ultrasonic (UT) and eddy current (ET) NDT techniques, as well as modern technologies for determining the locations of underground pipelines.

The event was attended by representatives of seventeen major public and private drilling, E&P, transportation and service companies, government authorities, media and educational institutions.

Participants of the presentation expressed confidence that the transition of the domestic petroleum market to work on European and world standards is zero option not only because of the government’s initiative on the harmonization of technical regulations with EU standards. Compliance with global best practices for inspection, technical diagnostics and non-destructive testing of equipment and pipelines is indispensable to increase the level of QHSE and to improve the technological and commercial KPIs. It was also discussed that confidence in the quality and safety of inspected equipment should be provided by verifying inspectors’ qualification with international certificates and by the reputation of NDT contractors.
