Presentation of the leak repair technology

13-17 July 2015, Endevour LLC has arranged and conducted a series of presentations on leak repair technology for the Ukrainian oil and gas companies. An innovative technology has been brought to Poltava by Seal-Tite International (Louisiana, USA), a partner of Ukrainian oil and gas service company, Endevour, represented by Theo Rijper, International Business Development Manager.

For more than 20 years, Seal-Tite International has carried out nearly 3500 leaks repair of tubing, casing, casing heads, X-trees, SCSSSV control lines, casing hangers, packers, annulars, and etc. In contrast to other resembling technologies, Seal-Tite sealants are produced without particles and polymerized into a flexible solid only at the sites of pressure changes; thus, sealing the leaks. The application of this innovative technology allows to avoid setting derricks for workover operations. The only challenge faced by the engineers of Endevour and Seal-Tite refers to difficulties related to all-round usage of outdated drilling technologies and methods of exploration of oil and gas wells, compared to state-of-the-art know-how applied on a global scale. For example, non-packer exploration of oil and gas wells is currently practicing only in countries, except CIS countries, of Africa, Middle East, and some others. However, Seal-Tite and Endevour are highly professional and innovative companies able to meet the existing challenge by offering smart technological solutions to a stated problem.

During the presentation, the company representative has demonstrated how the sealing technology works in practice through utilizing experimental models allowing to ensure the effectiveness of technology and its applicability to Ukrainian market. For only six presentations, more than sixty representatives of such companies as Ukrgasvydobuvannya, Ukrnafta, UkrTransgas, UkrNDIgas, Naftogasvydobuvannya (DTEK), Esko-Pivnich (Burisma), Poltava Drilling Company, Pryrodni Resursy (Geo Alliance Group), JV Poltava Petroleum Company (JKX Oil & Gas plc), ENI Ukraine, Westgasinvest, Karpatygas (Misen AB), Smart Energy, Regal Petroleum, Ukrgasvydobuvannya, Prom-Energo Product, Arab Energy Alliance UA, JV Kashtan Petroleum, Ukreastgas, UkrSKS, Service Engineering Company, ANT have been introduced to a new represented technology.

The speaker of the presentation, Theo Rijper, noticed that the most problems related to leaking tubes and equipment are similar for upstream markets all over the world. As a result of discussion, an absolute majority of the event’s participants came into conclusion that application of modern technologies in drilling and production is financially profitable deal, not to mention the aspects of industrial safety, ecology, and other. The participants expressed acknowledgement and support to Endevour in an attempt to organize such important events, which make it possible for Ukrainian market players to stay aware of the newest global innovations in the sphere of oil and gas production. Additionally, these presentations and practical demonstrations are extremely crucial for increasing technical level of particular listeners as well as the whole market in general.
